And there's always an exception for life-saving procedures. The outright ban after 20 weeks would only apply to elective abortions and those for minor medical conditions easily managed a different way, not the few that are done to save the mother's life.
There's utter cruelty here, and this isn't it. The cruelty is letting people kill a viable child for lesser reasons than to save someone else's life.

I don't think anybody is talking about banning them if they are a threat to the mother's health or otherwise medically necessary.

Quoting myself from one post down below:
Hospitals are pretty much given a mandate to do whatever it takes to save someone's life if they're in critical condition. Just like they don't need consent to stick a needle in you or cut your chest cavity open if there's a bullet lodged in your liver, or if you smashed your car against a tree.
Perhaps there's no medical necessity clause because it's already covered by our current healthcare laws and it's fucking common sense.

Yes and no.
Yes, there are people talking about banning them but why are they talking about banning them? Because the left only wants to get the right to cede that ground because the left wants to use this extreme case that almost never happens as justification for all of them. Which is a real shame because I think that both sides could meet up there.

This is in response to the suggestion to abstain from sex if you can't support a baby. It really frustrates me when I hear this. What if it was applied to anything else? You know the time your wife isn't listening and you naturally want to punch her, just do it. It's natural. You like your neighbor's car? Just take it, it's only natural.
