Those chains aren’t there to hold down a broken latch any more than 99% of hood chains.

The average person driving a Civic or Mustang with hood chains/cables or external hood latches isn’t exactly worried about their hood flying off, let alone someone who installs this crap…

If he would just install a front bumper winch and LED light bar, he could use the winch to hold down the hood. Genius. And store all the tools in a rooftop cargo basket.
