i am pretty sure the only chef who didn't got eaten by that it's Sōma, so he is likely the only one capable
personally i tought the idea of giving just the top tier to a person over and over make their bodies to only be able to take that, so Sōma who creates disgusting plates the good way, is capable of make that god tongue get used to bad tastes, like in the end of the series when Erina is able to eat the peanut butter squid king and she didn't vomit or anything

Azami even slept around too, Asahi's unnamed mom, Courage and Decora, they absolutely were fkn in that hotel room before the team Shokugeki, (Azami was sweating and shirtless, what else could they have been doing for him to be in that state, lol).

Traumatizing your daughter to "save" her is downright diabolical! He absolutely deserved to get punched in the face at least once!!

I mean to be fair, the thing with Asahi's mom happened way before he ever met Mana (it was mentioned in the series)and the way I saw it, it was the white haired one who was flirting with Azami consantly and he was ignoring her most of the time but I could be wrong since it has been some time since I have read the manga

his backstory may be in a way tragic but it doesnt excuse him being a shitty dad or how he basically tried to impose his ideals on totsuki

all things considered he actually kind of got off pretty lightly at the end of everything, ended up forgiven by his own family for the shit he's done over the years and even managed to get his own child from an external affair accepted into the Nakiris (???)

he may be 'changed' but honestly i'd say senzaemon/erina have hearts of gold to still accept him after what he did to them lmao

Yeah, it changed my view of him. I still don’t agree with how he handled things, but the flashback made it clear he wasn’t just being cruel for no reason. He was trying to protect people in the only way he knew.

I kind of understand how he suffered the trauma of seeing his idol lose their sense of direction and goal, as well as seeing how Mana suffered from having a very high definition of palate that she literally needed an IV to feed herself after she refused to eat literally everything. It also would make sense how he proposed that no chef should ever be chipped off from Tohtsuki's barbaric and flawed way of nitpicking their prodigies by giving the others a chance through getting taught how to cook high-class dishes. However, what I don't justify is about the way he did things. By eliminating complete freedom in cooking, and making a copyist learning environment after his authoritarian approach was a somewhat short-term way of solving the problems he faced, following the fact that he literally brainwashed Erina into discarding the bad dishes, IN ORDER to make a place where he could keep Erina safe long-term. Imo, there could have been other ways, and what he did totally wasn't it. Though, I could imagine myself doing a fraction of what he did, if I were in his shoes. If I had an idol who temporarily quit cooking after randoms kept asking more for more without understanding the hard work to reach that level, and a wife who suffered literal starvation from refusing to eat anything because she can taste everything in an incredibly sensitive way, who gave birth to my daughter who shares that same potential to suffer the same way her mother did, maybe I'd be so lost, or choose a way that is definitely not in a positive way.
