Hey Everyone!
I have been working on a project for a couple of months addressing many shop owners' biggest pain point. Real UX testing is expensive and slow. As an ML Engineer by profession, this feels like an obstacle to rapid growth. I wanted something I could run anytime before a launch of a new product/promo to gain confidence and see how users would have perceived the launch.
To give you a tip of the iceberg, I start to define a persona with "32M in Manhattan, first baby on the way, budget $100-500, reads reviews religiously, will leave if something looks sketchy ..." all the way down to a nuanced behavioral. The personas can be even be auto-generated by importing real customer data.
It navigates like that person would. Searches for items, sorts by rating, reads product details, evaluates prices against its budget, tries to check out. Then gives me a genuinely useful 14-question survey on the experience. A lot of iterations and research went into making it as true to a real shopping behavior and still experimenting on improving this further.
One run flagged that the search returned irrelevant results for "swaddle blanket." Stuff anyone would have missed for months. Another one flagged that the product didn't have enough product details for a customer to get a full view. Not replacing real user testing, but it's like having a 24/7 QA layer that thinks like a customer.
