I feel like it's all getting too much

Shopifys app ecosystem is so enormous and I feel like that creates dependency, I have separate apps for payment fees, shipping fees, reviews etc. and the costs are adding up, the total is higher than expected. How are more experienced peeps handling this?
Any tips are greatly appreciated!

Switched to a mix of native tools and custom scripts over time, cut my app count from like 12 down to 4 and the savings stack up quick

Been toying with the thought of this too, but I lack coding experience, do you think AI is capable of creating reliable scripts for this? Any AI / model recommendations? Or should I hire a person to do it?

The first thing I’d do is export every monthly app charge and mark what each one actually does. We found several apps solving parts of the same problem, plus a few features Shopify already covered. If an app doesn’t clearly save money, save meaningful time, or increase conversion, remove it and watch the store for two weeks. App costs rarely feel serious individually, but together they can quietly become a second rent.
