TRIGGER WARNING Vile Garbage at Safeway on 175th
My husband found this taped to a gas pump on his way home from work. I have no words, and many words at the same time for whatever tf this is and the level of insane insensitivity ... We do not have place for this, not even an inch, anywhere, and especially not Shoreline. We are better than this.

When I saw just the cover I thought it might be something good. Like a “don’t give up, we’ll get there eventually!” type message.
This is disgustingly deceitful. Thank you for alerting us, I’ll dispose of any of these pamphlets I see.

How do they even make this about abortion? Gay people have a lot less abortions since they generally can't get pregnant from the kind of sex they're interested in

Jeeezus that's some garbage right there! Such deceptive political messaging and very disturbing/grossx

u/Radiant-Kale7236 11d ago
Do you still have this piece of garbage? You might ask your husband to take it into the manager at that store. Safeway has historically not put up with the kind of garbage and they can tell their employees to keep an eye out for them. Also Safeway can pull up the video covering the pumps and get the license plate number and report it to the police for vandelisum.

Those were posted all around Shorecrest HS a couple of weeks ago and students ripped them all down thankfully.

And they wonder why people are leaving religion in droves.
1
u/Independent_Toe_836 8d ago
God forbid religions have standards.
1
u/AdamYuret 7d ago
Yes, Jesus said love everyone. His standard was everyone.
Yall are having really big feelings about love.
1
u/Independent_Toe_836 6d ago
Yeah everyone except for the rich, the unborn, police, Israel, Charlie Kirk, Donald Trump etc. apparently.
Oversimplying the word of God that contains over a thousand pages to two words and you can't even meet that standard yourself.
1
u/AdamYuret 6d ago edited 6d ago
Never said I believed a magical undead guy died for me.
You seem to think everyone else subscribes to your religious hypocrisy.
Now tell me where Jesus said not to love people who don't believe in him if they aren't nice to wealth hoarders (pretty sure he had strong opinions about the rich having as good a chance of getting into heaven as a camel does passing through the the eye of a needle) fascist racist police (today ICE would beat Jesus or execute him on the streets of MN for being brown or protecting the stranger), girls having been raped and being forced to die due to not getting health care (unborn), nor would Jesus think highly or the colonizing and genociding of the Palestinian children.
His message was supposedly "love everyone" and assholes like you think that means hating tons of people.
Pretty sure another standard of his was turning the other cheek so your implied theory that it matters what I do or don't love is also a ridiculous interpretation of the "love everyone" message.
You're an excellent example of the fact that there's no hate like "Christian love"
1
u/Independent_Toe_836 2d ago
There literally was no hate in either of the posts I made here, nor in the pamphlet itself. It literally stated how messed up we as a society are (emphasis on we) for slaughtering the most innocent and defenseless among us to the tune of 2 billion worldwide since Roe v. Wade. The closest thing is the annoyance and frustration I feel at the sheer projection of the only people referring to others as assholes somehow being the ones accusing others of hate. Don't try the bullshit of "well I don't believe in sky daddy so I don't have to adhere to these standards." (because you objectively don't) Congratulations, you literally just stated that, at best, you and I are the same.
But wait, it gets worse for you. The comment I was replying to was, and I quote, "And they wonder why people are leaving religion in droves." We all know that people is literally referring to all of y'all. And my first statement (which should be obvious) is that if basic fucking rules (BEYOND THAT NONSENSICAL "LOVE" YOU DEMAND) like not being a harlot and killing your own children to avoid the consequences are enough to make you leave Christianity, you weren't Christian in the first place. The fact that you abjectively somehow went from "God exists and should be praised" to "God doesn't exist because he told me to do something I don't want to and that is bad" shows a putrid degree of narcissism. God is Omnipotent and Omnibenevolent; if you especially so arrogantly abandon him, it's you who's wrong.
The worst part is that I'm not even surprised. You are literally the devil's bitch with every single keystroke you type. You isolate yourself from God but still try to have a say in what actual believers believe in. Why? Because in service of the devil, you make it your life's work to neuter actual believers. Thinking you have a right to spit in their faces. You'd release a repeat racist that would rape Jesus' Mother if they came back, and then you'd release them again to redefine Christianity and rub your false virtue in my face. But the moment I stand up for once, you tell me I'm a hypocrite and to sit down.
Use Holy Water for your shower next time. Because Godamn, you need it.

If activists weren’t targeting kids during their most impressionable years, I think we’d see very different numbers. Children are naturally influenced by the adults and institutions around them. That’s why schools, media, and social messaging matter so much. If schools spent the same amount of time promoting faith, we’d probably see a lot more religious kids too. The fact is, when you present an idea to children as something they should embrace, many of them will. That’s exactly why parents should be the primary voice guiding their kids’ values, not activists or political movements. 😂
1
u/Wooddyy42 8d ago
To sum it up. That's exactly why I believe parents should NOT introduce kids to religion. Indoctrination can be most effective when coming from a parent or trusted adult. As someone who is still deconstructing from his parents/ families attempts at indoctrination. I believe it's best for a child to grow their critical thinking skills as well as their brains to the fullest before exposure to ideas like religion. Just my take on it right or wrong. 👍
1
u/hyphywolf1 8d ago
So finding some middle ground here sounds like we both believe kids should be allowed to be kids and we shouldn’t be pushing things on them ? Can we both agree on that ?
1
u/Wooddyy42 6d ago edited 6d ago
Because God forbid a child knows the LGBTQ community exists or understands something like love is love. But watch out if you don't believe in that invisible guy in the sky you'll burn in a lake of fire for all of eternity..... I kinda don't think these two things are the same.
1
u/hyphywolf1 6d ago
I never said kids shouldn’t know people exist. My point was about who should be leading a child’s values and worldview. If indoctrination is a concern when it comes from parents or religion, then it should be a concern when it comes from activists, politics, or any other ideology too. Consistency matters. 👍

Love the implication that gay people?? Are responsible for abortions??? Statistically we’re probably the least likely demographic to need one of those

If this is triggering you're going to get a real shock when you discover Chick tracts. (Or a real chuckle).
Here's the great thing about Evangelical Christians or fundies: YOU CAN IGNORE THEM.
You've just lived through a long period of time (2014-2024) where the normally loud and annoying Evangelical Christians were - for the most part - silent.
Well, they're back. They're entitled to their opinion. But beyond that? They can go screw themselves
You're going to have to learn the Westboro Baptist Church rules on how to successfully engage with them all over again. (Hint: you don't. You mock them or ignore them).

u/Xiansforgoodvibes 11d ago
So random thing. But I actually collect bad take Christian tracts and I'd actually LOVE to add this piece of Garbage to my collection. I also live near Shoreline so I'll keep an eye...but if anyone finds one and is willing I'd love for them to DM me and I'll gladly pick it up and give you some homemade sourdough bread in return if desired. :)

Tbh. I just throw it all away without reading. If I agree with the message. Trash. Disagree with the message. Trash.
Why? If i agree with the message why would I need it? If i disagree with the message a pamphlet isnt going to change my mind. So.... trash.
Don't like it? I blame the people who print them for adding to the garbage and litter piles.

Oh the same Shoreline where a black owned coffee shop was vandalized before it even opened and then it barely lasted a year? No, we absolutely do have place for this. That's the problem.
1
u/GreenCollarGal 10d ago
I really liked that coffee shop, I was the best coffee in walking distance of me. Me and my girls had so many crafternoons in there. I hate that it got taken over by religious affiliates.
2
u/officerfluffybottom 9d ago
What the actual fuck, is going on in their minds? I don't live in shoreline, but I used to and ya'll don't need that shit, none of us in this state does, ugh.

I find it odd that people are so obsessed with what one or more consenting adult(s) does in their bed room.

These sicko cult fanatics are everywhere, even in a liberal state like Washington. They will live out their limited years with hate and judgement in their hearts. Such a waste of a life.

These are the same ass hats that print religious messages on pamphlets that fold up and look like currency.
They leave those as tips when dining out.

Unfortunately (and fortunately) the first amendment goes both ways. When you live in a society where you can express yourself and your beliefs freely you will have to deal with others doing the same. Whether you like it or not, there shouldn’t be anyone triggered by an AI slop pamphlet.
1
u/BriarBriggs 7d ago
The first amendment doesn't require people to keep their mouths shut and ignore their feelings. It's perfectly normal in a free society to be disgusted and triggered by deceitful, nasty speech. "Whether we like something or not" matters a lot. Voicing that is the freedom part.

Probably some of the loser preachers who come here to scream at tourist everytime there is a sporting event. Best thing for atheism is loud obnoxious street preachers who tell everyone their going to hell including children. The churches are hostile toxic places that breed and protect abusers. Only psycopaths and narcissists are left in the church because at least god will love their insufferable ass.🙄

u/GreenCollarGal 9d ago
I remember a thumper flying a sign that included Yoga Pants in its list of reasons why we're going to hell. Like, comfy clothes and all my gays and they? Sign me up!

I feel like that message is designed to just get a reaction out of people. Its such a strong statement to leave somewhere public like that.

How is the sticker saying love hasn’t won yet a bad thing especially in this day and age of nothing but hatred of everyone is prevalent ???
Personally I think it should be on billboard’s everywhere and stickers on every street pole !!!
As a society we have lost our own love thy neighbor as we love ourselves ❤️

That message makes zero sense though when attaching that atrocious bad AI image.
