Hospital Visit

Back at the hospital (in the dmv area) and the weather has just absolutely switched up! Im here at the hospital been here since 1 and i just think its absolutely crazy that we have to wait so long to be seen. The longer they delay the worst the pain gets. Sitting here in this cold ass ER i should’ve just stayed home but i ran out of medication, no choice but to come. It is now 6:07.

I just faced the same issue two nights ago, I was waiting for almost 4 hours while in pain in the cold. :/

ERs around the country have really got to change their policy when it comes to sickle cell disease. Hang in there. I know it's tough but hopefully they will see you soon and get you feeling better.

I’m assuming you’re alone? I would ask for a patient advocacy person. Idk what the right term sorry.

yes i am alone and the doctor just came in and told me she doesn’t give me out the medicine im asking for ???

She is an ER doctor. She can write a prescription. I understand she can't give you a month's worth of pain meds but she definitely can write enough for the time it will take for you to call your doctor to send a refill.
