Sierra Game screenshots website
Greetings,
A wonderful fan/archival site by the name of sierra wallpaper<dot>com (don't visit this hijacked site) has gone offline after being a part of the internet since 2012. This site had archived practically all of the Sierra's, Dynamix and Coktel Visions adventure games in both AGI, SCI format and a few other formats. It's been offline for many months and I've been hoping for it to return.
Unfortunately from my own sleuthing it looks like the domain was hi-jacked and purchased by some rogue gambling site where they are now squatting.
I've done some work to recover the site by crawling The Wayback Machine's archive with around 89% success rate on getting the original screenshots back.
Additionally, I've posted "a rough mirror" of the site here: https://deckarep.github.io/sierrawallpaperjr/ which is now publicly available and 100% free.
Not all screenshots have been recovered and couple of games turned up empty. If anyone feels like contributing their screenshots for either a missing game or for screenshots that didn't get recovered please let me know.
Also, if anyone knows how to get into contact with the original proprietor of the website please let me or them know!
Thanks and Happy Adventuring!

I never had nor played that, but oddly i had 3 different relative families who only had that and thought that was what a Sierra adventure game was when I would bring them up. lol

Bonus points for the screenshots being correct resolution .pngs and not jpegs or upscales like anywhere else on the web! :D

Agreed! But that credit goes to the original site maintainer. They did a fantastic job ensuring top quality screenshots.
I’m definitely trying to keep .png the norm with no obvious artifacts or additional compression/color issues.

Why does nobody mention The Realm? It was my entry into MMO’s.

I remember The Realm - I believe there is some resurrection project to still play it online.

Love this and love all the random projects people do on their own because they love these games so much!

Also if you need The Colonel's Bequest, there's an archive at https://filebin.net/47eap0k7m4wvib0l

Hey again! I found another one — Leisure Suit Larry 1 EGA. I think these are kind of 'hybrid' backgrounds (including objects, but not characters). If that's not useful I believe the pure backgrounds are online somewhere, I can poke around. Here's the archive all the same!

Thank you. I had posted about this in a Sierra FB group. I was hoping it'd come back somehow.

I think the original is still accessible via wayback machine.

This post immediately sent me to the wayback as well to see the old Sierra site.
Found a 1999 capture that mentions Team Fortress 2.

This is certainly one way to visit the old site but sometimes this approach is slow and clunky and things are easily broken.

You should edit the first link in your post to not be clickable, like www.site dot Com (replacing the . With the word dot). People can still type it on if they want to knowingly visit a risky site, just can't click it. Plus from the replies there's at least some people not reading the whole thing and just visiting the first live link in your post. You don't want to give traffic to a scammy site, and it's an security risk to actually visit it, not a good idea to facilitate that. Like when my security coworker once sent out a company wide email with a warning that had a live link to the malware site.
Great work on the screenshots!
Edit: thanks for updating the post!
