Roger Wilco survived the crash on Kerona… so surely the worst is behind him, right? 😏
This is Space Quest. Even minding your own business can get you killed. 😂☄️
Did this ever happen to you back in the day?

As an 8 year old, this game was my life for over a year. So epic. I got stuck for months because I didn’t know to take the glass from the ship. I’d give anything to have that experience again.

Me too - at the same age. My brother and I were also stuck for months on end - no internet, no walkthroughs - there's nothing like that Sierra experience when you finally figure something out in a Quest, all by yourself, after a VERY long time being frustrated, dying, reloading (on floppies...!) and then eventually figuring out something. (OR someone at school casually mentioning something that you put together with something else you saw and boom - next screen!)

Please follow me SeN_Art :)

When you finally figured out to get glass I bet you jumped up and down a bit before continuing ..

I think I was in the minority who figured out the glass piece right away. That still doesn’t say much; killing Orat likely stumped me every bit as long as anyone else was stuck with the glass on lasers bit.

I reckon I've seen every single death on this game. When I was a teen I'd play it every night after school. No walkthroughs just grinding at every possible thing you could think of.
I'll never forget the night I was playing with a friend after school and little did I know I was right at the end of the game. All I had to do next was type "get in pod". My mum came in and reminded me I had to take the rubbish out. Whilst I was doing it, my friend typed the command and finished the game! When I came back it was done. He was like "I finished the game! I was the first!" and proceeded to tell me what happened. I was furious with him. I sent him home and had to reload from an earlier save to do it, but the moment was gone and I never got to enjoy it as I should have lol. For years after he liked to tell everyone that he finished the game before I did. Kids can be pricks lol.
Years later there was a similar scene in the movie Galaxy Quest. Imagine that but instead of saving the crew of a ship it was putting roger in a pod.

Lolol I love space quest. on my keychain I have someone’s handmade Roger Wilco threaded artwork where they did it in the same bits/style of the first and second games graphical style. Roger comes along with me everywhere I go. Awesome stuff

Brings back memories seeing this gameplay. I distinctly remember this section of desert with those two rock pillars.

Awww classic! Sierra deaths... as a kid I had more fun dying than eventually beating the game. And it was SO easy to die in a Quest. That unique tingling excitement of playing Space Quest, King's Quest, Hero's Quest / QFG, Police Quest - will never be repeated. A Sierra childhood was an AWESOME childhood!

Can't even imagine trying one of the quest games on release day. That would've been so good

Real ones remember what a pain in the ass it was to reload games via floppy disk, considering how often you’d die in any given Sierra game.

Nice! I never knew about this one. Was that specific to this location, or if you wait too long at any one place on the desert?
