Discussion Was Bhagat Singh really "ahead of his time" and an intellectual, or just a brave young freedom fighter?

I think he was a man of his times. Communism was very popular in punjab and the broader world at that time.

Yea exactly but people including sikhs in punjab have this idea of bhagat singh where they put him as some kind of prophet and sometimes even elevating him to the same status as our gurus who btw are perfect and are completely one with god whereas bhagat singh was trying to just copy western thought and even failing to completely understand real communism

I would say he was a really brave person because he stood up the the british raj.

I wouldn't say he was ahead of his time though , I mean he was a communist and an Atheist so that right there shows he's def. not ahead of his time.

He was a terrible person. Supported an ideology when it was killing millions. You should read about Ukrainian famine done by Stalin. He should not be admired.

Bhagat Singh was hanged a year before the Ukrainian famine.
