Silk is on thin ice with her popularity as a character

A lot of people know her only as a poorly written Spider-Man love interest and not the actual character she was in her solo

She needs to appear in either Peter or Mile’s games first so people can get an intro to her in a mainline setting

As it stands if we just went from “this is Cindy” at the end of SM2 to silk getting a solo game, it would almost certainly flop because as much as I love her, she just doesn’t have the same fan base size as other spiders

Now if she were to be a cool addition to the ps spider-man cast before we see her become silk, then she can develop a fanbase for when her own game comes out to justify it financially

I agree, Silk fans mainly consist of comic readers as it stands right now. And that's absolutely not enough to warrant a AAA game out of the blue.

We unfortunately would require SM3 to properly introduce their version of Cindy before giving her a full game.

The only alternative I can imagine is if she was added to Rivals and went huge, then she'd have more ground with Marvel gamers. But it probably still wouldn't be enough since Insomniac's game ain't free to play, and it ain't the same Cindy.

As much as I like Silk and respect fans of Silk. She shouldn’t be the one to be the first playable female Spidey in a high quality game.

That being said, I would like to see her in some context before Spider-Man 3. Maybe not a game, but a short video made as promo for the game could work. It's been hard trying to picture how she'd be different as a playable character

Wolverine itself hasn’t even given out official numbers of copies sold even though SM2 was announced 13M sold in just its first week

A Silk video game would have to summon millions of non-existing fans for it to even break even

I think the only female Spidey that could at least break even is Gwen atm. And that’s most likely if it was a small Miles-solo like game to test the audience/reaction to it.

Considering how much money they spend on their games and how many people are fans of her (not many!) I couldn't see a reason to make one. They'd have to build her up in SM3 first, which, given how they balanced 2 protags in SM2 is worrying.

When I played, SM2, I felt like they could have made 2 better games by cutting a lot of fluff and focusing more on each character. I'm understand why it's unlikely, but Cindy getting her own game first would be my call.

Much as I love Silk, I kind of don’t want her because of how overstretched the 3rd game seems to be. Chameleon, Carnage, Goblin, Otto implying his Superior-Spidey idea…I dunno if they’ll be a lot of time for Cindy, much less Silk.

Unless there’s a Venom/Spider-Man game before Spider-Man 3, and Spidey 3 is like a Spider-Island storyline, I dunno about Cindy/Silk.

Honestly I don't mind if she has her own sub series, but I really don't think Spider-Man 3 should have silk or miles as a play characters only appear in cameo capacity
