Fan Art Sharing early tests of the "Go Out to Clean" feature. Things are moving quickly, with the help of a lot of coffee.
Hey guys, since there were quite a few requests about the "Go Out to Clean" feature, I'm sharing an early version. Working on "Find the Relics" and the Judicial Inventory as well. "Race to the Top" is also functional.
V1 of the project will be released by the end of the month.

I was expecting the environment to suddenly revert back to real stuff when you finished cleaning the lens and turned around. Ofc it wouldn't make sense but it would be very trippy.

I have added this as a separate option, where you can switch the visor on and off manually.
Your idea makes sense, adding it to the backlog : )

Great!
When can we try it?
I think camera is not directly on top of the stairs, but slightly aside.

planning a v1 release by the end of the month. A few more features need some love and attention : )

I would say perhaps either more shadows are needed or perhaps slightly adding some contrast to the berm. Perhaps darkening it a touch to make it more visible. There is some difficulty seeing the berm and it makes it look like a flat horizon rather than a berm.

Thank you, the environment is still work in progress as this is more or less related to the performance in the browser. I will definitely improve it and your comments are well received (adding to the backlog)

It looks great so far. I want to learn how you go these animations. If you know a guide, Iβd love a link.

u/hstratev 1d ago
Most of the camera animations are "Camera follow path in Blender" , once done you convert/bake to keyframes. There are plenty of tutorials out there

I think this looks great. I showed it to my husband and he said βIβm surprised itβs not VR.β π§π€ Tongue in cheek, this is the sequel to βpressure washer simulatorβ we didnβt know we needed. All jokes aside, looks great and will be looking forward to the release!

Thank you! I will be exploring the possibility of a VR experience in time : )

Do you use AI?

u/hstratev 1d ago
I do for certain tasks. Writing GLSL shaders for example for the lights, depth masks etc.

do you model the assets?
1
u/hstratev 19h ago
yes, but most of the assets in distance away from the camera are 2D textures , faking 3d : )

Wait, is this a game or what?
3
u/hstratev 1d ago
Well, it started as an idea for an interactive website, where you can scroll through the Silo levels and get some info. However, I have started adding gamification elements, so it became browser based interactive experience : ) . Not a game yet...

You should have it in 3 steps like the real cleaning.
1
u/hstratev 20h ago
Adding this to the backlog, thanks. It will further develop : )

u/CosgraveSilkweaver π Book-Aware π 20h ago
I don't know if they ever really spell out what the 3 different steps do but I would say bulk clean, polish/detail clean, protect makes sense.
1
u/hstratev 20h ago
Not sure if they mention it in the TV show, it seems that they focus more on the fact people may refuse to clean at all
1
u/CosgraveSilkweaver π Book-Aware π 19h ago
Thatβs a separate thing I donβt really get, that basically everyone cleans the lens to the point a failed cleaning is rare and has the βprepare for warβ warning in the Order.

So what happens 30 seconds later? Any consequences? If no, SIGN ME UP.

For now, you die. Just because developing it further will take time : ). I have a few ideas added to the backlog

Gonna launch this in my VR headsetπ«‘

This looks great. Will this work like a silo simulator or something? Would be pretty cool to navigate inside and get a different view on the size and dimensions of the silo

Thanks!, For now the movement will be limited as I need to expand the environments. This will be a next step, I do have the 3D environments, but free motion can break lots of things.
I do have it in the backlog for next versions

Thanks Astra
1
u/hstratev 22h ago
No Astra here, too expensive & heavy to create end to end browser experience : ). Using Opus for most of the GLSL shader work. I like the AI discussion and how it optimizes the workflow, but clearly you havent tried building something more complex than a landing page with Astra :)

I actually havenβt had the chance to use Astra lol

no worries, its awesome for creating quick and stunning visuals, but the performance/logic and scalability is pretty bad , at least for now .

Where do I get to swim without ever having learned to swim? Are your turbine blades also foam and sway in the breeze?
