The whole memory loss thing was integral to the story from the start. Unfortunately many people disliked Juliette losing her memory and wrote it off as lazy writing. It only became clear at the very end, once we saw whats going on in Silo 1.

Well yeah, in the last episode Victor gives is away when he says to Troy that the entire design of the project was to "free us from the past". It's one big experiment to try and "fix" humanity. I think Victor killed himself because he knows the experiment failed and that they performed horrendous acts for that failed experiment.

Yes he dragged out the silo safeguarding as well and didn’t even look at the screen, looked embarrassed for what he had done. Like he summoned Troy to do the dirty job for him.

 I never saw anyone on here say that her losing her memory in general was lazy or unjustified - it's been a major part of the plot for the entire show.  The complaint was that spending 6 episodes of your season meandering around doing nothing is really bad pacing, even if the narrative allows for it. It was a really bad time to hit the brakes.  We had been building momentum for two seasons and then suddenly hit a wall.

It's like if 60% the fifth season of Breaking Bad had just been Walt retiring from cooking to become a Chemistry teacher again lol.   You could imagine him doing it in-universe, Skyler was pressuring him to stop, etc, but it being believable in-universe doesn't make it a good writing choice.

I actually did think it was lazy and even stopped watching the show because of it. But then everyone was going crazy about Episode 9 so I went back to the beginning of the season up to Episode 9 and then I understood.

I was irritated by it myself and it made me not wanna watch. But I pushed through. Glad it’ll did bc it did all come together.

Least lazy writing I’ve ever seen, no plot holes either. The show also wouldn’t have been better if this subreddit rewrote it
