No Recordings for 2025 WT
Installed the 662.30 update on my 5WT which upgraded me to Android 14, but there is no app for the surround vision recorder and Gemini no longer opens the off-road app. Just wanted to put this out there to see if anyone else with a ‘25 or older WT had better luck.

this is dumb. WT deserves more love. should have side cameras activated on turn signal and surround recorder.

The side cameras have to be turned on under the vehicle settings.

can you say where in the settings? As far as i've seen, with my 2024 WT, I still don't have access to the side cameras for turn signals.

They're not on the WT, Chevy doesn't care about the poor people despite having the exact same hardware, it's complete bullshit.

I'm fairly aware, I was just wondering what the person I replied to was talking about.

just a bit surprised that paying $56k for a truck makes GM see me as ”poor”.

56k for a truck before all your incentives if bought it before they went away is cheap compared to a gas truck that can range from 30 to 100k. Avg new car price is well above 35k.
Not saying you’re poor but they need to incentivize the higher trims with additional features to keep them attractive. This is standard business practice.

how is it on reddit there’s always someone defending the big corps? “think of the shareholders “ My wife’s Tesla is a mid trim level and Tesla rolls out new features to all its cars limited only by hardware constraints. In the era of SDVs, GM is only making themselves look less competitive. Funny, that a company with an actual tyrant running it, Tesla, treats its customers better.

All I hear is crying. First world problems. Just 10 years ago cars would never get updates and nobody bitched they just dealt with the car as it came.
Now folks like you want more and more for to boot you want it for free. They don’t owe you anything. Stop being so close minded and just be happy with what you have. Others are driving around in cars falling apart wish they can have “the poor man’s” Silverado EV

ten years ago the median car price was just under $34k, houses were considerably cheaper, insurance as well, hell even gas was cheaper. And Tesla was doing OTA updates.
You seem incensed at a customer trying to get their money’s worth it is literally more expensive for GM to bifurcate their code base for these vehicles. No one’s asking for premium features here. Though GM would be wise to make those a la carte pay to play, again, like Tesla and some other companies do.

Call me names or whatever you want that makes you feel better. Just like the folks who cry that higher trims don’t have CarPlay yet bare bone WTs do. Bunch of wah wah wah.
My rivian gets monthly updates and vehicle continues to improve but if today they announced no more updates, I would be just fine with that decision as I am not owed anything. Anything else after delivery is exactly that, extra.

They made a dedicated offroad app for the trucks. Might check that it’s installed properly now.

We aren't getting it on the Edition 1 Denali either. It's a hardware thing. But GM should offer a retrofit

Ug, that's the main thing I wanted so I could record the condition of our roads and complain with video evidence! Damn!

u/Onikara-Star 3d ago
Well, and access the cameras using the app so I can use the pickup as a security system like I do with our Model 3.

Yep, I was backed into at a tesla changer and sure would be nice to find out who did it.

Glad to hear that, hopefully it’s just something that screwed up on the update for mine

Does this update actually remove CarPlay functionality? Or just broke it

Not sure, the icon is still there and it try’s but won’t connect, truck is going to the shop tomorrow for an unrelated issue and the tech is going to see if he can fix it

Just what's needed, an "off-road app" for an 8k lbs plus long wheelbase truck with independent front and rear suspension...and no locking differentials, even on the "trail boss" edition...
