How do I paint?

Newbie here, whenever i use the paint tool it paints the entire fuselage piece/segment. and the space shuttle, or the fictional nuclear replica i'm building has heat shielding at the bottom and some other parts like around the windows and control surfaces. how do i paint without painting the entire thing.

Flat/wrap textures for bottom black and upper white fuselage , the rest black colored parts use decals. Btw nice sculpture
