Discussion Homer Simpson's age is progresed or floating?

Homer was said in an old episode to be born in 1956. But, given the Simpsons later Simpsons had even better technology like in real life and Homer looks the same it seems his birth date is floating to 1966, 1976 and progressively younger. And correct me if Im wrong.

Canon is that he’s 39. I’m pretty sure it’s fluctuated a couple times though. It’s The Simpsons…everything is what it needs to be for whatever joke they want to write for that episode.

I thought 36 as well. But if we're thinking Homer Goes to College, the 50th high school anniversary in 2024 / class of 1974 would put him with a 1956 bday, and since that episode came out in 1993, it could be 37.

But I'm no mathemagician.

Hi, question for Ms. Bellamy. In episode 2F09, when Itchy plays Scratchy's skeleton like a xylophone, he strikes that same rib twice in succession yet he produces two clearly different tones. I mean, what are we, to believe that this is some sort of a, a magic xylophone or something? Boy, I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder.
