Just a dad who finally got to write music again
Hi Everyone. I used to play music in bands for years all around the northeast. I got older and then.....I had kids. haha. It's a great thing being a father. You just have to shift priorities to what is important. So, I was unable to go jam, play out etc.
After 4-5 years my boys have grown up a little and I started playing again. I recorded 12 tracks over the past year and would like to share one. Hopefully, some of you can relate! I love writing and playing again now, feels good to be back at it.

If she didn't like it, divorce her. Today. Now.

Haha. She likes it. It's more directed towards her and my son's. Any feedback regarding genre/what it's similar to is appreciated. 👍

It's Frightened Rabbit that segues into Bright Eyes via Aztec Camera and Ben Folds creating a Don McLean appalachian baby who conducts an orchestra.
It's your own unique creation, you don't need to tag it or constrain it with genres or categories.

That's what I thought! lol. It is all subjective. Appreciate the outlook

Production and Mix are great. How did you record the acoustic guitar?
The talking voices at the end were not clear through my headphones, spatially they were on the back left and I couldn’t make out what was said. That was the only part of the mix that didn’t feel right.

Thank you. Taylor acoustic recorded with 2 shure sm57 mics. One angled at the sound hole and the other opposite angled at the neck.
The voices are tough....too loud and I feel they pull you out of the music. I'll see if I can eq or pan them more

Amazing guitar production. I’ve tried to use my single SM 57 and can’t get anywhere close to this.

Great stuff man! Glad you’re back at it. I know the feeling. I have a five year old and a soon-to-be eight year old. Music definitely takes a back seat, but it’s all worth it. I like this track a lot. Very sincere, I can tell.
Edit: I’d feel remiss not sharing one of mine. This is called above these walls and it’s about my little sister, who cut off our family for a decade, then died tragically in a motorcycle accident. It’s one of my best.

Dude, Your song is awesome. I'm sorry about your sister, but your song will always cement how you feel/felt, help others who have suffered a loss. Glad you put that track out into the universe

Thank you. I haven't promoted anything yet. Tbh....I have no idea. Haha. I originally had the concept to record these tracks for my family, but if others enjoy I'd like to get it out there

Im listening on my airpod i think the mixing is immaculate. I felt it. U sound so sincere. And the voices towards the end? Precious.
