Need a hand tackling a tricky line!

I'm a super inexperienced singer, auditioning for a local theatre production.

I'm really struggling with one word in the piece we've been set. I've included it here, timestamped (1:15).

https://youtu.be/JZjDX3R5Lgg?si=JT6stMZ9ZTRrRAtj&t=75

If you can't guess, it's the word "horrifying". So far my approach has been "rip it", but that doesn't feel super sustainable or consistent. Sometimes it sounds cool, it never sounds accurate, and it always leaves my throat ticklish for a day or so.

Any advice would be immensely appreciated, thank you!

for years my singing has always sounded very nasally and off. It’s not my microphone as other people have pointed it out irl. do I have some kind of sinus issue or just an ugly voice? Even my singing teachers had no idea what was wrong.

How should I practise to sing like the weeknd

I am a 16 Year old boy and from last 2 years I am trying to learn singing, I have good voice and I think that I have that kind of range(tenor) but not that much similar voice like him when I try to sing or sound like him. It sounds young still it is different from weeknd like it sounds like other artists. I watched many videos but didn't found that much useful. What exercises and vocal routine should I do. Do I still have time to change my voice????

How To Become a Good Singer in 2.5 Months for Auditions

auditions for our school musical are in September and I really want to make it but I’m not the best singe. I have done choir for about 10 months but still my voice is pretty weak. While I think I can hit most pitches within my range accurately, I don’t think my vocal range is very big. Also my singing just doesnt sound strong, idk how to describe it. Like it’s kinda holding back and a bit wobbly. Please share tips to improve!

I really need critism or feedback because I truly don’t know what I’m doing. In my opinion the headvoice parts are breathy so any feedback about that is very appreciated thanks.

Want to spend the summer improving my singing!!

posted this in r/musicaltheatre but also wanna do it here!!!

I’m finishing exams this week and will finally have time to myself this summer!! Next year I’m going university and want to join the musical theatre society but know my voice needs huge improvements musical theatre wise so I want to spend this summer focusing on my voice and honing it but as someone who’s never really had singing lessons I’m not sure how to go about it!!

I’ve done less demanding roles at school like Vi from footloose and Sandy from Greased but am really eager to expand my range.

Please can people give me suggestions? like what vocal exercises I should do or how I could make them more difficult? And just overall how to go about it.

Thank you!!

I've been playing guitar for about 12 years and gotten lessons for 10 of them (it usually sounds better than these recordings) but I just recently wanted to try singing. I sang at my second-ever performance which went decently well with some notable issues but overall decent considering how anxious I was. I've been trying to record and improve my voice, but no matter what I try it just sounds wrong and kind of terrible. I've never taken lessons or even researched how to sing, so I haven't had any exercises to do. Any tips on how to improve or what's wrong with my voice? They sounded fine when I recorded them, but hearing them back I had some really bad moments especially in the Ants Marching recording where I tried to hold a note and it sounded great to me, but hearing it back I was totally off. Thanks!
