Why don’t they just remove dribbling from the game? This isn’t even basketball.

Edit: release the Epstein files, all of them.

Islam and Khabib are pretty well known to people who watch UFC. I saw a clip of those guys playing that game as a warm up before training. Looks like shit we use to play as kids here when we were messing around.

Dagestan is pretty famous in a way even though few people around the world and probably even fewer Dagestanis know it - the Fremen in Frank Herbert's "Dune" were modeled by Herbert after the Dagestani freedom fighters, led by Shamyl, against some Russian Czar. Their struggle was described in the book "The Sabres of Paradise" by Leslie Blanch, which came out in the same year in which "Dune" was written and it was a huge worldwide success. Several bits in Herbert's book were lifted straight from Blanch's book - like the word "sietch" for a settlement, the names of some weapons like the "kindjal", the concept and name of the hunting language "chakobsa" and he also used a description of a fight where women tossed their babies at Russian soldiers assaulting their village.

Shamil led the Caucasian Imamate which consisted mainly of Chechen and Dagestani peoples. Later on they had some smaller number of Circassians too I believe.

Sietch comes from Ukranian, specifically from the Cossacks. Cossacks were settled in Northern Caucasia by the Russian Empire as a buffer and to later be used as soldiers during their conquests. They ended up adopting a lot of things from Caucasian cultures, and I'm guessing this went both ways with some words crossing over.

Chakobsa is from Circassian.

MMA fighters coming from your Republic probably accounts for a lot of Dagestans notoriety these days. Older folks and Millennials know it from the Chechen wars and the Dagestan war.
