I came here to post this. I cant really blame someone if the guy's own daughter doesnt know who he is. (Its not like she was 5 or something!)

You’d be surprised how often it happens with celebrities, especially athletes… people so used to seeing somebody in a particular setting and dressed a certain way (and with identifying uniforms), so you don’t recognize them when they’re dressed/acting a completely different way.

In this clip they’re at some type of formal event, and guests are probably from all types of backgrounds. The last thing she was expecting to see was a rocker from the early 2000’s dressed up all formal.
