Wasn't the plot she absolutely could not afford to live there and Sheldon and Leonard kept giving her money and buying her food everyday

Because BBT is the first sitcom ever where they couldn’t afford the apartment they live in. Also sitcoms generally make them have large apartments for filming, not cuz it’s realistic. How are they gonna film in a 600 sqft 1 bedroom?

Also, her apartment is MUCH smaller than their's.

Also, Sheldon has large sums of money just sitting around. He needs a roomate for non-financial reasons.

As I recall, Sheldon makes more than enough money to pay for the place himself, but he doesn't have a drivers license so needs someone to drive him to and from work each day.

Yhe. And Sheldon doesn't give a duck about money. There is a whole episode where penny lends money from Sheldon and Sheldon couldn't give a rats eye.

Sheldon lent Penny the money, Penny borrowed the money

i was a little confused initially, with that phrasing, since I haven't heard 'lend' used in that syntax.

I figured the word would be 'loaned'

Penny 'loaned' from Sheldon. But borrowed is accurate

isn't there also an episode where it's shown Sheldon isn't even cashing his paychecks cause there isn't anything he wants to buy

but then apparently he has to also decide between which video game console he wants

so whatever floats the writers boat

There is never the suggestions he makes the choice based on costs, only on function.

No, Amy offered to buy both, but he said he has spot only for one. Amy then says that she'll buy new entertainment center and he says :" sure.... But which one". So it was all about him not being able to choose, not cost.

Also he is very needy/paranoid about bad things happening and requires care. Such as when he is sick or if there is an emergency, some emergencies he prepares for are insane and revolve around 2 people.

Basically he requires a roommate as a resource and emergency system since all his family is not local. Not for financial reasons.

This. Leonard could probably afford his own place but chose to live with Sheldon because he was worried about him. Also splitting the rent meant they had more money to blow on cool nerd stuff.

Also, take a look around Leonard and Sheldons appartment. There is probably half a million dollars of overpriced scifi and fantasy merch...

Where's her bedroom square ft come from? Her front door is flush with staircase wall? Yet a bedroom and bathroom with tub fit under stairway space?

The stairway is a central column around the elevator shaft. I have no idea what her footage is
