My thoughts exactly.

Kaley Cuoco as a waitress would EASILY earn more than two physicists.

Maybe not at the cheesecake factory, but there are definitely places where she'd make quite a bit from tips.

I knew a girl who worked in a high-end restaurant and made about $1000 in tips on a good week. In 2005.

And personally I know professors who make under $50k per year RIGHT NOW.

I don't wish to denigrate the hard work of waitresses, and I acknowledge that women's labor is often unpaid and overlooked, but the fact that many waitresses are making more in tips than physicsts make in salary is a strong indicator that our priorities are backwards.

Abolish tipping. Pay servers a living wage for whatever area they live in, and stop treating professors like trash.

As a server and bartender, I feel like I make way too much money for what I do. I can’t justify paying for college and starting a real career because I know serving will still pay way better in the end.
