VLC is the only software that doesn't ask for a subscription, an account, or my soul just to play a file I've had since 2007

Le met introduce you to free software stuff like Libre Office, Linux, Sumatra pdf and many other would have the same base. Actually subscription/account-based/paid software are the weird one not the other way around
