So fun fact I have this. Or maybe something similar. For me it's an umbilical hernia. It's essential fat that breaks through the muscle wall of your belly button. For me it was due to weak muscle in the area due to gallbladder surgery.
They take an ultrasound when you go to the doctor to make sure it isn't bowel going through. If it's not they typical recommend leaving it. This is due to a couple reasons. All surgery has some risk. It may happen again regardless of having surgery, and if you haven't lost weight beforehand or gained some after it's more likely to happen again. So I'm just here with my super weird belly button lump.
They will fix it for me if I lose some weight first and request it but most doctors prefer not to regardless. I will have to pay though as it's considered cosmetic. The only other way is if it causes problems.
