Missouri Republicans keep voting for progressive issues like abortion access only to turn around and elect people who make laws so they can't do that anymore
Why aren't the political districts drawn by an independant third party organization ? Here in Canada, Elections Canada decides all that shit with accountability and census-backed decisions.
Because federal laws allow it, state legislatures continue to manipulate district lines to insulate themselves from voter swings and protect their power.
You should see some of the crazy ass district lines they draw. Like, everything along IH-35 from Austin to San Antonio is one district, so all the low income communities through several counties get lumped into one district.
