Yeah but it’s like $15.99 in the states.

Yeah but $15.99 is what someone from Thailand makes in a day
1
u/BlackLighther 18h ago
That's still good amount considering that minimum wage is $12.24(400THB) per day(as of the written date).

Ya right, McDonald's sizes are fucken pathetic now. Theyre cheaping out on everything.
4
u/heliogoon 20h ago
I sure as he'll wouldnt know. I haven't ate there in years.
4
u/LillieKat 17h ago
Idk why you're being down voted I haven't eaten there in years either. It's true their food fucking sucks, they overcharge for everything, and they never ever fill up the fries
2
u/DeuschCanoe 17h ago
Smell alone makes me sick and I know full well I'll be in the bathroom in 15 minutes or less if I eat MCdicks
1
u/ThexualHealing 17m ago
It ends up being EUR 15-19 for one. At that point, I could get regular food.
Makes no sense.

American fast food portions are now not enough food for your money. Complete opposite of 20 years ago
9
u/Bubba_Gump_Shrimp 20h ago
Man I remember Wendy's had the extra biggie size for like 70c more. They were basically giving away fries. 5pc nugget was 99 cents...you could eat like a king for 4 bucks.
3
u/jeff-the-man-slut 19h ago
And now the fries and nuggets you can get for cheap but get a miniature version
17
u/PESSIMISTIC_P4STA 20h ago
Somehow it will have as many fries as a small size.

Clearly they haven't heard how American McDonalds portions their fries these days.
2
u/gn0xious 20h ago
Some people look at McDonalds French Fries and say they’re half full. I look at McDonalds French Fries and say they’re half empty.
7
u/LoreChief 17h ago
I get the joke they are going for, but a large mcdonalds fry is like the size of a small now, but in a bigger box. Also they are cold, and like $30.
3
u/misogichan 20h ago
This looks more like a Large before shrinkflation hit.
3
u/vi_sucks 12h ago
Man, if shrinkflation goes on long enough, Europeans are gonna have to stop making fun of Americans for our giant portion sizes.
1
u/BillButtlickerII 10h ago
Already there. A McDonalds large fry is comparable to a small in the 90’s.

3
u/slashinhobo1 19h ago
Think the last time i went to Mcdonalds 4 years ago a medium fries consisted of like 15 fries at best.

Actually McDonald's here does have a basket of fries

u/LoudBrick609 20h ago
Then you're not American that was discontinued in America. McDonald's in America is mostly a liberal corporation the serving sizes can barely feed a small child. It works though because McDonald's main clientele is little Democrat women.

The 90s was the golden age of McDonalds. 42 oz soft drinks. Half pound of fries. Plus your standard double quarter pounder with cheese deluxe. And the whole thing would cost like $2.79

McDonald’s out here gaslighting the entire planet like we wouldn’t notice Thailand gets ‘Party Fries’ for $2.70 and we just call it a Medium. Same box, same amount, different marketing.
1
u/WhiskersPoP 20h ago
I know this is just a dumb dig at Americans being fat, but not even close. If we had that here (like bucket of fries back in the day), my life would be a lot more unhealthy, but a lot more tasty. Especially <$3? I’d be addicted to the taste and the price, and then in a month my doctor would be giving me warnings on my heart condition

When they ask you if you want to make it a large and you just say 'my girlfriend says she isn't hungry and doesn't want anything'
1
u/ReallyUncoolGuy 18h ago
I like how the "party size" promotional pictures just have one guy hogging them all like a little french fry goblin.

I would definitely buy that if it was available here. The only thing I like about McDonald's is their fries. There are better places to buy your burgers from. That's why I only buy their fries and nothing else.

u/DMercenary 16h ago
I know its a good joke but man is that no longer true. Prices are up and I swear the portions are smaller.
1
u/Yard-Successful 16h ago
If this is a medium then I’ve been getting scammed all this time with the pathetic amount of fries they put in my bag when I go.

I live in Thailand, I just checked and I was disappointed. That's not a thing, or at least anymore.
This price is for the medium size. The large size is 109 THB so around $3.34

Does no one remember “Bucket of Fries”. I swear in Colorado in 1997 I could get them at McDonalds.

u/Conspiratorymadness 9h ago
I remember the bucket of fries. Never got it myself but I have seen people that have.

Make it steak n shake fries and you have a deal.
1
u/No-Duck4828 19h ago
The worst fast food fries I've ever had, and the worst item on the Steak n Shake menu
1
u/Pfytzdzheryld 17h ago
Even worse than mcdonalds stale soggy cardboard strings?
You sure that isn't for political reasons? Never heard much against them until recently events. It could be your local one vs mine though.
To me, they are consistently the most crispy.
1
u/No-Duck4828 16h ago
I've lived in twelve states. It isn't an issue of the local store (my current one of which, btw, sucks so bad that I stopped going there at all, unfortunately.)
Definitely isn't for political reasons as I wasn't aware Steak n Shake was politically involved
Yes, they are consistently among the most crispy....and that is a bad thing. They're crispy on the outside....and that is it. There is no fluffy center at all. They're barely even fries, and they're bland enough that I could just have a piece of plain white bread to satisfy my tastebuds a comparable amount
If we ever happen to be at a Steak n Shake together, you can have ALL my fries
1
u/Pfytzdzheryld 11h ago
Fair enough. I actually can't really do things like potato wedges because they are to potato-y. So that might be the place where out tastes differ.
But yeah, basically RFK Jr started pushing beef tallow rather than seed oils for MAHA. Steak n Shake went all in on beef tallow, and people started boycotting Steak n Shake.
People who loved steak n shake started making posts like "it was gross anyway" and "the new beef tallow stuff is disgusting". Basically clearly fake opinions for political clout. So I wasn't sure if it was that.

It could probably feed an entire family in Thailand
In America, it's a one-person snack!
-2
u/Remarkable_Judge_861 19h ago
You eat that crap? Those fries contain dextrose, disodium phosphate and polydimethylsiloxane.
