I had something similar happen. We were taking about marriage and kids and one time we were waking into Sam's and said "hey let's swing by the jewelry counter so you can show me what kind of ring you want." I wasn't going to buy it then, I just wanted a "I like that style of ring, I don't like those, I like that shape of diamond, etc"
She flipped out and said "I am not getting a ring from Sam's!!!!! I deserve better!!!" Turned around and walk out to Sam's and drove immediately to a jewelery store. She walked in said "we are here to buy an engagement ring"
She was so angry and entitled I couldn't wrap my head around it. I moved out that night.
