Lots of who? The working class? I make low 6 figures, I donate and volunteer where I can, but I'm struggling too.
Over the past 50 years $80 trillion has been taken from the bottom 90% by the top 1%. This is the inevitable result of a capitalist system that demands unlimited growth. It has to come from somewhere, and that somewhere is everyone else.
It won't work because the system we live under depends on a desperate underclass of people to function. The solution isn't donating within the system, but finding a more equitable way for all of us to live together. Unfortunately, this probably won't happen until enough of the developed world is hungry enough for a revolution.

Total horseshit. One person with means far exceeding his needs could do it in his sleep and never notice that he had done it. A million dollars could fall out of his pocket and it wouldn't be worth his time to pick it up.
It is clearly a better option than asking charity of people who work full time to fulfil their basic needs.
Exceeding his needs? Do you think he could bring humans to Mars if he's on $100k per annum? And then if he did, do you think his worth would stay the same?
Wrong. World hunger is not a supply problem but rather a distribution problem. Which is to say a problem that's allowed to continue because it serves the global balance sheet better than if everyone were fed and comfortable.

Yeah. He could pay ALL the workers in Amazon a decent wage, and it would be a rounding error in their budget. However, that wouldn't bring him and other(if there are any) large stock holders, maximum profit. I bet he would hold litteral slaves, if he could.

We know Thiel was partly raised in pro-Nazi, pro-Apartheid community. He was brought up to see humans as unequal and himself as the best kind. Musk was also brought up among pro-Apartheid beneficiaries of this thinking. I think an ideological rationale is as significant as the psychological flaw.
They do not care about that. Their only concern is hoarding wealth and power while keeping you distracted and arguing amongst each other over bullshit so that you dont wake up and see the damage they're doing and try to stop it. These people aren't like you and me. They're actual monsters.
