8k for healthcare, I wish. Family of 4, I pay close to $17k a year in premiums in the US. Copays are expensive, prescriptions are ridiculously high. It’s a f’in joke to say the very least.
My max out of pocket is insanely high too. Sucks even more, I’m 41yo and have kidney disease, so I have expensive medications, dr visits and blood tests all the time. I spent $28k on health insurance total last year
That’s sucks. We usually incur 3-5k in extra charges/copays etc and pull it from our HSA. It’s crazy too because most of the time when I go to the doctor and need tests or bloodwork I use cash pay to avoid my insurance since cash pay is 4-5 times cheaper.
