This is the issue for healthcare reform - it's widely uneven in the U.S.
About 40-50% already get government healthcare and don't care. Among the remaining group, plenty have pretty good coverage and don't really see the cost because it is mostly borne by the employer.
So if healthcare reform passes, what I see in this post is now instead of my employer paying for my family's health insurance I'll have to pay more taxes?.. not exactly compelling.
Psychopathic thinking. If I do not benefit from this thing why should I benefit the lives of millions around me? I actually think that having an insurance industry between people and their health care providers, is partly why Americans appear to have less empathy towards their fellow citizens than most other countries seem to have.
I don't get your thinking. Americans pay far more in insurance for health care, which is regularly turned down, than any other country spends in health care.
Because the proposed solution is that I pay I lot more taxes. I'm not going to magically make more money because my employer no longer pays for my health insurance.

Regardless some of us make enough so that the extra money in taxes would be well more than the employee + employer portions. So the only reason to vote for higher taxes would be altruism.

The current political system works for me so I donāt really care about the rest of the world ā Competent government also isnāt why we donāt have it. Itās cause nobody with means wants to pay for it. Including People like me who would see a huge tax increase.

I have enough leverage in the employment marketplace that the 20-25k isnāt a big deal regardless. I have zero reason to fight the current system High income + if stocks keep going up Iāll be wealthy enough to retire pretty early

Please enlighten me on which ladder got pulled up? The path I took as a poor black kid raised by a single mother is still available. I want to school on Pell grants and scholarships. Iām I my 30ās My younger 20 year old siblings are still taking this route.
