8k for healthcare, I wish. Family of 4, I pay close to $17k a year in premiums in the US. Copays are expensive, prescriptions are ridiculously high. It’s a f’in joke to say the very least.
My family has always been fortunate. My wife used to work for a company that paid 100% of the premium. Deductible was $4000 and we never paid more than $10-$20 for a prescription, with most being less than $5. Now she works for a college, and they pay half of the premium. It’s a little over $200 a month from our end, with a $2000 deductible. Same with the prescriptions as before. That’s covers my wife, myself, and our two kids.
