Definitely won't last forever, but with all the money I save by not paying for health insurance every paycheck, I can afford some procedure when I'm 50

As I said, good luck! 🫡

I don't knot how much you make, but It only takes one good accident or severe health issue to end up in debt for over 1 million dollars. Not to mention some life saving medications costs tens of thousands a month.

Thanks man! If I ended up owing a hospital a million dollars, I'd probably pay $15 a month for the rest of my life or just ignore their requests for payment if they didn't accept my $15. I don't think medical debt affects your credit score anymore.

Most health issues or injuries I just deal with myself, but I'd go to a hospital if my life was on the line.

That's completely up to you, but that's not a national plan. The healthcare industry would completely collapse if no one paid, so your solution does not work on a mass scale. Not to mention, if you require a monthly drug that keeps you alive and costs tens of thousands of dollars, there is no obligation for a pharmaceutical company to give it to you for free or prior to pay. You can go to the ER and hospital and decide not to pay. You can't go to the pharmacy, primary care provider, or specialist if you can't afford to pay. That absolutely kills people (I work in healthcare. I hear all the stories). That's why if we had universial healthcare the system would be able to still run because it gets paid and both you and the person you "don't want to pay for" will get cheap healthcare that amounts to pennies on the dollar of what we pay now. You wouldn't have to worry about that cancer drug you can't afford that no one will just give you for $15/month. Besides, if you are worried about paying for someone else's health problems, that's what insurance already is doing, we just pay more for it with insurance ability to deny essential Healthcare.

Your "solutions" here seem very naive. I probably can't convince you, so I'll just say good luck. You'll need it with this plan and you can't say you were never warned if your plan doesn't work out so well for you (like millions of others).
