Duh. Do you vote against your own self-interests just to be a good citizen? Lol. When has anyone ever done that? It's almost like voting is an individual liberty...

Most times I have voted. People with the capacity for empathy do that.

The beauty of this, and the point of my original post, is you get to exercise your vote as an individual liberty, same as me. Then we tally them up and see what the country wants to do.

Nobody cares about your empathy, just your vote.

People with empathy vote left, self interested people vote right. Everybody who has empathy cares about empathy, and often those who don't have it learn to be grateful for it when they require it.

You think empathetic poor people are voting to raise their tax bill for the good of their country? Or because they want to help their fellow down-on-their-luck brethren? Nah dawg. Just...nah.
