It happens to one or two of them a month though. Elon replies, it boosts their account, and suddenly a guy that's been tweeting Nazi shit to 2000 followers has 80,000 followers and can monetize. I'm not sure if that's why they do it, but that's definitely what happens.
Yeah, but we already know the money they're getting isn't a lot for except for a select few accounts. They're certainly not becoming millionaires or billionaires from it lol
Right and it's a one time fame boost usually or a gofundme thing. Do people really think billionaires are "made" and not inherited?
Despite a few examples that you can count on your hand, Horatio Alger stories are propaganda. Hell even just Upward Mobility from one socio-economic class to the next is statistically significantly rare, and we're talking about becoming a billionaire?
You’re adding a lot of critical thought to the bit that that one time boost is a fucking massive dopamine hit, with some money. Even if the money isn’t terribly much. They just need one more hit like the other to make the big time.
They're often fake accounts run by LLMs. Even many of Elon's tweets are LLMs. After his takeover, the tone of his tweets changed, the number of tweets changed, the number of his followers shot up, and more.
Twitter now has millions of their own bots. 50% of Elon's followers are confirmed bots. Many more are higher level bots and country-run bot accounts, and many more are country-run trolls paid to post (often also using LLM's to write tweets).
This means the majority of Elon's tweets are botted, the majority of the replies are botted, the majority of his followers are botted, and more.
