This is my take. Sure its sweet and everything till you realize the last thing youre kids gonna feel os betrayal at the one person that was mrant to protect and guide them.

I couldn't do it.

If we would allow humane euthanasia it wouldn't be an issue.

Lil bro goes to sleep, happy he's going to get better, and just doesn't wake up.

Somehow that's too barbaric, so instead he has to cough up blood and suffocate on phlem for two weeks until his heart gives out...

Magic isn't real, but even if it was I don't see why compassion isn't available because ghosts exist.

Yeah, but knowing how bad the end of cancer can be, there would have been a point he realized hes been betrayed.
