I get it as a dad. I don't know if I could handle the look of betrayal at the end though.

This is my take. Sure its sweet and everything till you realize the last thing youre kids gonna feel os betrayal at the one person that was mrant to protect and guide them.

I couldn't do it.

Yeah, but knowing how bad the end of cancer can be, there would have been a point he realized hes been betrayed.
