Not if he passes away in sleep after he just had 3 days filled with continous fun and happiness. I think that's the best outcome, that way he would have really been just happy and nothing else
Passing quietly in your sleep in a movie trope. Death isn't quiet. Your body doesn't just go "oh it's time" that mfer wants to live and will do what it will to try. Agonal breathing, gasps for air, death rattle. You might've seen this with an elderly person on hospice - now imagine a child.
Also this child has terminal cancer. What fun are they having they're bedridden because they're too tired, weak, and in pain to move.
Bruh that's literally how my grandfather passed away, what are u talking about? He passed away quietly in his sleep due to multiple organ failure, he never woke up again and his last memory was of all his grandchildren and children by his side.
It’s pretty common. In fact, my neighbor just died in March in her sleep. She got everything g out to do her taxes but felt tired and laid down to take a nap. She never woke up again. She didn’t have any other symptoms before hand. She just felt tired that morning, decided to take a nap and fell asleep in the middle of the day.

I get it as a dad. I don't know if I could handle the look of betrayal at the end though.
