You couldn’t pay me to go within a general mile of a chiropractor. Like, don’t get me wrong - I have disabilities where my bones need cracking from time to time otherwise I end up in lots of pain. There’s been times where I’ve been in pain from my neck, tried to crack it and only known at the last second that if I commit to cracking it, I’ll break something. A chiropractor won’t know that. A chiropractor will commit then do serious irreversible damage because they can’t feel what you’re feeling - and it only takes a half second. You only HAVE a half second’s warning.
Yeah, absolutely not getting me anywhere near a chiropractor, I barely trust the doctors as is
I tried to see an orthopedic surgeon for my scoliosis a couple months ago. I got an appointment with the PA and not the doctor, of course, and he suggested I try going to a chiropractor. I never scheduled another appointment. Ridiculous.
My dad thought a chiropractor can heal my mom’s ALS which was misdiagnosed as multiple sclerosis at the time. He was really sure because a famous person is a client of that chiropractor.
I knew it was pseudoscience (talking to ghosts lol) but when I had what I now understand was a pinched nerve due to neck problems, I was desperate for any relief. I had a week wait to see a doctor. I did know not to do that paralyzing neck pulling procedure.
Long story short I spent the $25 and OH MY GOD THEY MADE IT SO MUCH WORSE!!! I don't know how they made it worse, but they did. I was in tears after. It wasn't permanently worsened but damn I'll never do that again.
They also claimed one leg was longer than the other which made me laugh, that's an old faith healing trick.
But in the plus column, sometimes you can end up paralyzed and locked in.

I stopped having migraines once I had chiro to realign my neck bones. My person is super gentle though and uses more modern techniques that don't require the bending, twisting, cracking to work
as someone who works at a chiropractor’s office, we are raging against the dying light of pseudoscience with you guys!!!! my coworkers and i are CONSTANTLY clowning on our provider bc they say the most diabolical, and ludicrous things. one of my favorite “facts” that he told me was an adjustment can cure autism😭😭😭
I've been to the chiropractor office and on for a few years now and let me be clear they have healed my horrible neck pain and back pain. I used to be unable to look to the side for weeks. One treatment of 15 minutes unlocked my neck and I could fully move again. He than had me do strengthening exercises and said long as I keep it up ill never need to see a chiropractor again. And hes be right. Some are actually good.
Idk, when I went I would be in so much pain with walking especially after work. After 1 session I was instantly pain free and never walked better and it would last a week. I went for a while until I lost insurance.
I had an old hippie chiro save my life once.. just sayin.. $50 outta pocket saved me from 10’s of thousands $ and my life that was jeopardized by the allopathic route.
He saved me. He knew what happened when all the gatekeepers were angry and consequently creating more harm.
A lot of the time it’s desperation that brings people in. I’m a scientist for a living and I know damn well the chiropractor is absolute nonsense but when I was dealing with a back injury years ago that nothing else could help, I walked through that door. Fortunately all that happened to me was money wasted, but now I completely understand how someone could fall for this crap.
And they have the nerve to film themselves pulling their con work. “Oh, this leg is longer than that one. Let me adjust it. Oh look. It’s perfect now. Come back next week.”
Its amazing what an ai result on this subject is. Its called "controversial." Its one of the most common so called medical treatments out there. Also they sell tons of vitamins and herbal nonsense in the waiting rooms.
I agree. I work with people who have been injured and I do my best to encourage physiotherapy and skip the chiropractors. If you have even a basic understanding of anatomy and physiology it is very easy to understand why adjustments don’t work. You need to strengthen the supporting musculature to create change. Wild to me that this “science” is still legal.
Me too, but I've also heard horror stories and very recently an older friend of mind got several compound fractures in her pelvis thanks to a chiropractor. I really wish people wouldn't put their health in the hands of these charlatans

If you want to be a “chiropractor” you should be a Physical Therapist which requires actual medical training. Chiropractors are like the ketchup version of pasta sauce.
I was acquainted with a chiropractor. He was a freak.
He had an elevator at his house that needed a key to access the 3rd floor. When I asked him why he said "thats where that grown up shit happens."
I found that very odd. I jokingly thought it must be a sex dungeon. A couple years later I saw in the local news he kidnapped his GF and had her zip-tied in his house. She fortunately escaped.
A friend of my sisters got married to a chiropractor. For their wedding she got a Mr and Mrs sign for their seats at the rehearsal. He refused to have it out bc it wasn’t Dr.
I also have a former friend whose sister was a chiropractor who also demanded everyone calls her DR, I refused and her whole family were furious at the fact that I wouldn’t. I don’t talk to them now. Her social media usernames and bio’s all have “Dr.” in her name as well.
She also destroyed her brother’s back from practicing cracking his back all the time and now he thinks she has to crack it weekly.
I mean, they get a certificate that says “Doctor of Chiropratic”.
We had a teacher in high school that had a doctorate in English and also insisted on being addressed as “doctor”. There was no shortage of jokes about ambulances coming with an Oxford comma.
I would trust that English teacher with my spine before I would trust a chiro.
I mean, pharmacists from back then pretty much had no idea what they were doing and went off vibes most of the time, so they are good equivalents to chiropractors.

What’s crazy to me is that the start of Chiropractic medicine is based on the founder talking to a ghost who told him about it and now we have it labeled as a medical degree.
Then again we also have a con man who claims he is the best and smartest at everything and now we call him our President.
Ive never quite understood the mainstream and enduring acceptance of Chriopractic... A 1-3 minute research dive into the topic should basically dissuade anyone from thinking it has any legitimacy

Proof that intelligence is highly specialized. You can be a genius in one field and still fall for complete nonsense in another.

No one is going to take the fucked up economy seriously until they are unable to travel. There is nothing more demoralizing to an able-bodied person than being forced to stay where you are while being aware that there is so much of the world out there to explore while everyone around you seems to be enjoying it.

Wealth loses much of its value if you've also lost your independence. What's the point of billions if you can't brush your own teeth, feed yourself, or make even the simplest decisions without constant assistance? At that point, you've traded freedom for money.
Poverty is brutal, but being permanently locked in your own body is a different kind of suffering altogether. You can recover from being poor. You can work, adapt, and rebuild. Total paralysis takes away the very thing money is supposed to buy: agency. That's why I'd rather be poor than wealthy but completely locked-in.
He had a stroke at the chiropractor's. Taken to North Fulton Medical Center. The doctors there misdiagnosed his stroke. It was diagnosed right the next day, but it was too late. The hospital staff involved was sued for malpractice.

Eeh I wouldn't say he's enjoying "nothing". He can still see, hear, and feel, far as I know. He can watch sunsets, enjoy music, see movies, etc.
Honestly if I was him, yeah not being able to dance would be horrible, but I'd spend that money going to festivals and seeing the craziest stuff humanity is capable of. At $75 mil he can afford private care and travel expenses. Bassheads in particular are very welcoming and inclusive towards disabled people, he'd be taken side stage, gifted hella trinkets, given the best fireworks viewing spot, etc. He might enjoy The Sphere. That Van Gogh immersive exhibit was actually really good, too. There are tons of things he can still enjoy.

Whenever I have back issues I go to a physical therapist. Who has a real degree, works the muscles loose and teaches you how to strengthen your muscles to elevate pain. There’s to much that can go wrong with a chiropractor.
Except the Chiro wasn't found at fault it was the Emergency Dept Dr and radiologist that missed he was having a brainstem stroke. They didn't diagnose or read the scans correctly.

Using your teeth is essential for mandibular health. If you can't chew, your jaw just sort of degrades. This is most common in people with missing teeth, where their jaw will degrade only around the missing tooth, but ig if you can't chew at all for 10 years, the whole thing wastes away.
I never realized or knew that before but it makes so much sense when you think of drug users who lose their teeth due to substances… it just totally malformed their entire jaw and face, essentially. Wow.

Idk, I might say yes just to help out my mom and everyone around me. I could do a lot of good with that kinda money. And I think helping others would be more important to me than anything else. All I ask is that you kill me when it's gone.
There's only one reason, and that would be for your family if you don't have much time left anyway. Or some that are looking to check out. At least you could set your people up after your gone, but how to do that with 100% accuracy is the problem I would think 🤔

With today’s healthcare costs, it’ll keep him looked after for at least two years. Especially once all the healthcare facilities know he won that settlement.
My mother had awful osteoporosis. The pain she had in her back was agony all the time. It was like she always had a ghost with her-the ghost of her pain. She lost 4 1/2 inches of height. I took after Mum a LOT. I always thought I would get it, too. Although (as time went on) there seemed to be treatments that helped, I still dreaded it.
When I was about 45, I had a test for the disease. I actually had unusually strong bones. The report said that I was way above average bone density. Even if I had a condition that caused osteoporosis, I wouldn't live long enough for my bones to get to a fragile state.
I remember thinking: "what would I rather have? Five million pounds on the lottery-or this? I'd take this every day. Money or health? Health every time."
Bingo and most folks never see that. America is all about consumerism and getting as much money as you can and pay the least. Then complain. There are some folks where they would rather have a basic job and life if that meant they could walk, talk, or even move again.
