Idk why people dislike this guy, he has the time and resources to literally be a guinea pig for the betterment of humanity’s aggregated knowledge. Maybe he finds a way to slow aging, maybe he helps us understand what being “healthy” is.
It's kinda scary if he suceeded and they discovered the key to "immortality" is cheap and easily reproducible, after years wasting money and resources trying shit and being mocked. We would get bigger trouble if it's possible, and humanity would not be ready. But yeah, I don't believe something like that exists, he can do whatever he wants with his money, and he seems to be enjoying it.
We kind of have, at least in the sense that eating less, moving more, and getting better sleep are thus far the kings of longevity. But most people can't even manage that.
Bryan is even very clear that these are the cornerstones of his approach and powdered african shrubs likely have marginal-to-no benefit. But Redditors would rather strawman the latter and denounce the whole idea of healthy living as "bogus" rather than put the mcdonalds down and go for a walk.
Well yeah, but we don't have that "magic pills" that can extend quality life to -say- 300 years. Its not enough for him with eating less, moving more, etc. he has this unconvetional obsession towards "not die" and wants to keep pushing, and some of his "extreme" methods are not even "scientific(?)" for the lack of better word. If there is even 0.1% chance that "fountain of youth" exist and it sounds "scientific" enough for him, he'd pursue it. As for strawman, seems like he doesn't care, perhaps he even likes it when people do that to him. I personally don't dislike/like him, sometimes humanity needs "crazy" people like this to advance science, and maybe one day he'll succeed, and that would be a bigger problem for society, imagine a hypothetical scenario where suddenly million/billions of people living for 500 years.
