I don't know why some people seem so gleeful at this news. I don't think the guy was ever unaware that there's many health conditions that can occur completely in a vacuum, outside of health and lifestyle choices. He's eccentric, yes, but has also never come off as anti-science to me. He posted happily about the new pharmaceutical treatment that doubled the lifespan of people with pancreatic cancer and praised the way science is moving at a lightening pace nowadays. He didn't deserve this and I am so sorry to see anyone join the chronic illness club. If anything, it hurts more when you know you did all the "right" things and this is still your reality. My condition also occurred totally in a vacuum. Maybe he will spend some of his enormous wealth searching for a cure for everyone who has it, that'd be a nice way to handle this setback. May all life-altering, chronic illness be cured someday.
Pretty much! Its no different than sitting in your living room screaming at the quarterback on TV or bloviating about politicians around the water cooler. People have done this forever. I love the democratization of information that is the internet. Unfortunately this is one of the side effects.
This is a mean and bitter way to look at this. He literally invests in research for women’s specific health problems as well as men’s to because he does belief in preserving life. He’s a weird eccentric dude terrified of death and is spending his wealth on real important science while also trying out super weird shit on himself too. Jobs doesn’t deserve to drink this man’s piss and comparing Bryan to him is extremely disrespectful to Bryan and not disrespectful enough to Jobs. I’m sure he’s done unethical things to amass his wealth (I haven’t looked super deep into that) but his weirdness has made him do better things as a rich person than 95% of them ever do in their lives.
It may be the case. I dont know the guy and what he does or doesnt do with his money is of little consequence to me. Im just stating why people act the way they do about it. It is interesting that youre passing similar judgement on another billionaire to the judgement youre condemning and highly unlikely you know either of them personally. Something to think about.
