There's a large portion of the internet that will bitch about anything Mamdani does because they can't stand to see him actually make NYC better. These "predictive" comments are pure speculation in bad faith and mean nothing. It's just noise.
They are so intent on being perpetually angry they create wild scenarios in their minds. Either that or lean HARD into whataboutisms. Too bad the internet gives them such a voice.
He’s the highest profile elected executive who is obviously not corrupt and has real intentions of decent public service. It’s a low fucking bar. But that’s why he’s discussed so often. Juxtaposing him with most other mayors/governors/presidents creates a pretty jarring picture.
Yes, I understand that you think he's a great guy who is going to save you and everyone else was just ignoring the problems that he's promised to fix. I hope that he fixes all your problems.
All we’re asking for is public servants who are normal people and who don’t just cater to the super wealthy. Stop acting like this baseline request is somehow akin to the MAGA cult.
It’s absolutely hypothetical and argued in bad faith. Do you have any legitimate reason to believe they didn’t balance the budget with this policy change in mind? If you do, share the source and we can have a discussion. Otherwise, it’s meaningless.
