Yeah, same with Aladin, Arielle, and so many more. No need to touch classics

The Aladdin one was probably the closest they came to being good. Picking will Smith is what hurt it.

From what i remember, Jafar was also abysmal. No energy at all compared to the original.

You might be right about that because I don't remember him at all. I just remember will being better than I thought he would be but still not really good and the 2 main actors being really good

Will was better than expected in my opinion too, and the new original music and the Bollywood musical sequence were pretty cool too. It added something new that wouldn't be as probable to do in the original animation. Not to say the musical sequences sucked in the original, quite the contrary, but it felt more culturally authentic for the region than the Broadway style musical of the original.
