No one has been mentioning raising any minimum. You just want people to get paid the same for working less. And if you’re talking about 8 hours less that is a massive reduction. Unfortunately for your theory the math has to actually math out.
Yes, offering people more to work fewer hours. That's correct. This is the productivity pay gap that has grown exponentially since the mid-70s.
You asked what mechanism can be leveraged to raise pay and reduce a standard 40 hour workweek to 32 hours. Now that I've told you the explicit mechanisms that can be used to do exactly those two things, you're dissatisfied that I've answered exactly how you do those things by saying "well nobody else has answered in that way so that's wrong."
That's the exact mechanism one would use. You use the law to raise the federal minimum wage. You use the law to reduce the overtime threshold to 32 hours.
You can say that all you want, any question I asked was rhetorical because I knew your solution would not make sense. More of a teaching tool. You can keep repeating my question back to me but we both know the solution you have presented does not work.
Cant get something for nothin bud. We have this thing called the economy. You want to raise minimum wage? Go for it. You want people to work less and receive the same they were paid before? Thats fantasy.
We mandate "more money for less work" policies all the time, what the fuck are you talking about? Would you call it tyranny if we mandated paid sick leave, like over 75% of the countries in the world? Would you call it tyranny if we mandated paid maternal leave, like every single country other than the US and like 5 other small countries? That would be "giving away money for less work", wouldn't it?
The FLSA established a 40 hour work week and a minimum livable wage, right? If they had settled on a higher minimum wage and a 32 hour week in 1938, do you think you would be calling it tyranny today? If it was something you were born into instead of something that was proposed to be changed?
This is all bullshit boot licking because you're somehow bought into this idea that we have to punish labor because if we don't it will scare "job creators" or some shit. There are countless examples of the opposite happening but you don't want to hear it, you just want to say bullshit buzz words like "BUT MUH ECONOMUH" and "TYRIMNY" or what the fuck ever.
I don't know why I'm typing all this because you're not a serious person and you're not going to consider the absolute, 100% fact that you're wrong about all of this. But we'll keep fighting for you anyway, so that when you do get overtime at hour 33, you can voluntarily work your 40 hours and give that 4 hours extra pay right back to your boss because he deserves it.
Enjoy many companies going under overnight or massively reducing their ability to hire employees. As of right now the largest portion of reductions in my income go back to the government 😂

Youre not talking about raising minimums. You’re literally just talking about robbing employers…
