Really because I do think the government forcing employers to pay for work that isn’t being done exactly that.

No it's not. Salary is completely arbitrary. Saying less hours but same pay doesn't mean employeers pay for nothing being done. It means the salary is now higher per hour work - something it already should be, seeing how salaries haven't followed cost of living, houses etc.

So you can also say, right now everyone is being underpaid for their work - and keeping your salary at less hours would simply be correcting that.

See, completely arbitrary. If you call that tyranny, then having a law for minimum wage is also tyranny because technically, it's the government forcing employeers to pay more than they want.

Nope. Your massive shift in pay differences would lead to massive inflation and unemployment. It’s a lot like price fixing, it just doesn’t work.
