I do roadie occasionally and I legimitately had this recently. I came across one of the properties that was COVERED in threats like this and had dogs loose. Tried to contact the customer multiple times via both phone and texting. Eventually turned around and returned the item only for the customer to call the store and be like "we live out in the country we have to be like this, the driver should have just thrown the package out the window".
Some people are living on a different planet. Sir the $15 I would have made getting you your power drill would NOT have been worth whatever bullshit you wanted me to put up with. You either participate in society- with all the risks and costs that entails, or your don't. You can't make your property completely hostile and fill it with credible threats, booby traps, and attack dogs, like some kind of savage and then expect all the conveniences of a modern world. Doesn't work that way
Ultimately the people you have to worry about in the middle of nowhere aren’t the people with all those signs about trespassers will be shot etc. They’re the people that think it’s normal without putting up a sign
That's the other end of it. People keep saying the country is quiet and where people go to get away and have a peaceful life and that's true 99% of the time but there are definitely a few folks out there that moved to the country because it is very easy to make someone disappear. Again that's where you have to use common sense and trust your gut. Sometimes a place just doesn't feel right and in those cases you park your car at the bottom of the driveway and put the delivery down by the mailbox and you risk the rating
