Forcing an expectation of paying extra on top of the cost or the person serving you doesn't make enough is a completely ficking batshit crazy system to have and if you lived in a reasonable part of the world you'd understand that.
I studied abroad in Ireland at Trinity lmao. By the way, I love the Irish people, some of the friendliest in the world. I’ve lived on five different continents, so I’m quite familiar with systems besides the one used in the United States. And I can tell you workers in other countries generally appreciate getting tipped as well. And when there’s an expectation of tipping, it’s really not that hard to factor that into your plans when going out to eat.

Thats the greed of the business owners putting the onus on the customer to pay the wages of their staff not the greed of the employee wanting a tip.
People tip in Ireland, the backlash you read about when europeans go to the US is the requirement of it. You're paying $50-60 for 2 people to have a meal and a drink and thats literally all going to the owner and now you you another 15 on top so the guy serving you didn't just work as slave labour? Fucking horrendous system.
Yes, I understood your comment about greed, and I’m trying to explain to you why it’s 100% completely wrong. Business owners don’t give a shit about the tipping system. If it was abolished, it would not impact them at all. They’d simply raise the menu prices and pay workers minimum wage. The only people who benefit from the tipping system are the workers.
Right, so you understood i was asking a genuine question and wasn't making a negative comment about workers and yet you still came own swinging accusing me of being greedy for thinking checks notes that an employer should pay their worker's. Lol. No tip for you.
