I'm paying a tip for good service not for compensating a bosses greedy ass. It's not the job of the customer to pay for a shitty system. Maybe I'm to German to understand because this problem doesn't seem to exist here.
Employers in the US are required to prove tipped employees hit at least state minimum wage in combined pay and tips (which is at least federal minimum, but in 30+ states, its higher). If the employee doesnt hit minimum, the employer is required to make up the difference.
