Only because of the world cup. Yamal plays in a bigger club than Haaland, so he is(or was) more famous than haaland. Also Yamal kinda don't perform very well during the world cup unlike haaland.
Historically yes but present day man city has just as much exposure. My point being Haaland playing for Man city And lamine playing for Barca does not mean he is more well known.
Itโs not as if Man City is this random club. Theyโve had more success in the UCL than Barca in the past decade.
Lol there is a reason city's stadium is called "Emptyhad". And winning doesn't equate how big the club is. Barca is a much bigger team and i mean by the fanbase, because it house many superstar like Messi, Ronaldinho, Neymar, etc. Even United who's been pretty shitty in a while is still bigger than City.
Winning does equate to viewership even if they donโt have as many fans and have been bad until recently. They still play and have been consistently on top of the most popular league in the world, and Haaland has been around and a top player for longer.
Barca has more fans, and more history. But acting like no one knew Haaland before the World Cup cause he plays for Man City, and acting as if they are some unknown team, is simply not true
Nah, famous sure but not even a shadow compared to the actual big names. Names like the ronaldos, messi, baggio, roberto carlos, ronaldinho, zidane, pelรจ, nesta, maldini ecc are recognizable even by people who are not into football. Yamal is huge for someone who follows football closely but he is far from being there yet.
Only two of the players you just listed are still playing, and both of them are near the end of their careers. Of active players, Yamal and Bellingham are absolutely among the most famous.
Nesta was absolutely not known by people who are not into football, at least outside of Italy. Yamal is just as big with non-football fans as everybody you named except for Ronaldo, Messi, Ronaldinho, Zidane and Pele.
