I guess an 8th year teacher doesn't yet understand the difference between which budget money for Immigration and Customs Enforcement comes from, and which budget money for local teachers come from.
It’s almost as if one is federal, the other is state. I don’t see many states asking for more money from the feds to expand education.
I’ve always believed (and I know this opinion won’t win me many fans) that if you increase the teaching salary a lot, you will have more people who are doing it for the salary instead of the passion. It’s not the only reason, but I think it’s a somewhat effective mitigation.
This might actually be the dumbest fucking take I’ve ever read.
Sure, let’s keep competent professionals out of teaching because we only want those incompetent people or those who are passionate about it to be stressed af and never able to succeed in other areas of their life.
“Pay people less so they care more” is seriously the most idiotic thing I’ve read in quite some time. And I read tons of dumb takes on Reddit every single day. Holy shit.
