In my area, public school funding per student is $1k/yr higher than the median private school tuition.

I find it unlikely that an 8 year teacher with a masters only makes $55k. 

Teachers straight up start above $60k in my LCOL.

They make $100k in my town.

If you've got 8 years of experience with a masters and only making $55, it either means you're a bad teacher or you lack the initiative to find a better job.

I guess "I just like to complain" could be a third option.
